Flavoured Rice-Flour Crunchies - Crunchy Side-Dish or Evening Snack
This crunchy rice flour snack is easy to make and good to eat. i saw this recipe in an cook book. tried it. and it was good ! today we had with lemon rice.
I added onion, garlic, green chilli and cumin for flavour. the onion flavour in this snack never lets you stop munching it.
Ingredients:
- cut the onion and transfer this to a blender along with green chillies, garlic and cumin seeds and blend to a coarse paste. (you can also use onion powder and garlic powder instead of fresh ones).
- then, take 1 and half cups water in a broad vessel, add salt and the onion paste to this and bring it to boil.
- once it boils, add and stir the rice flour steadily in the boiling water. here i have used store bought rice flour. if you want to make home made rice flour check out the recipe here - Homemade rice flour.
- within few seconds the rice flour becomes thick like a dough.
- stir till the rice flour comes together to a dough.
- remove from stove and cover it till it comes down to room temperature.
- then, add few teaspoons of oil and knead to a smooth dough.
- take all the dough together and roll it like a thick chapathi. cut this to small triangles or diamonds.
- deep fry them in batches in hot oil till crunchy.
- flavourful rice flour crunchies are ready to be munched.
i bet you can never stop eating this crunchies !
Happy cooking !!
