About Me

Welcome to my blog Eat, Pray and Cook. Im Dhivya, a happy home maker. I am the person behind Eat, Pray and Cook blog. I do cooking as a passion, and I have developed new recipes over a period. I am always interested in trying to improve a recipe, though it is a very commonly cooked dish. I cook what is best and healthy for my beloved ones. My blog focuses on easy recipes with few ingredients, tasty, traditional, and still healthy recipes.

I was born and bought up in Chennai. I  live with my husband Ashok, and daughter Ashya. We three are foodies. I did my UG in botany and PG in biochemistry in Meenakshi college for women, Chennai. I started cooking only after marriage, before marriage the only help I used to do for my mom was to boil the left over milk before bed.

I was a quick learner when it comes to cooking. I remember the first time and first dish I cooked was upma. I got the recipe from my mom and literally did it like practicals in college. I used to reproduce any recipe at ease.

Basically, I love to try new recipes, experiment in my kitchen with either fresh vegetables or with an empty fridge. I enjoy cooking, because I enjoy eating! I'm always curious to learn new recipes or in developing one..

When we were in US for few years, that's when I had lots of time to try many new recipes. I can say that's when I learnt many new tips and tricks of cooking. For a person like me who does not have any great cooks in my family back ground, cooking was a new fantasy. I experimented a lot in my kitchen. I was totally carried away with my new baking experience.

It was my daughters wish to create this blog as she loves my cooking. Aren't we a blessed soul if our family likes our cooking.. The reason behind this blog is, I want to share my recipes to the world.. to the people like me who are always in search of developing their recipes.

My hobbies are listening to old Tamil songs and watching old Tamil movies. I also like reading OSHO's books.

The recipes which I have shared here are all tried and tasted personally by me in my kitchen. I hope you will like the recipes in my blog.

I will be excited to hear from you so please share your feedback if you like my recipes. Try out my recipes and please feel free to share your cooking experiences. It encourages me to post more good recipes.

Thanks for visiting and hope you had a nice nice time at Eat Pray and Cook. If you have any queries, you can reach me at dhivya.arai@gmail.com. You can also find Eat Pray and Cook in Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Google+.
