Chinese Elbows

Chinese Elbows - Macaroni in Chinese Style



Unexpected holiday.. make it special !!

Today, is a study holiday for my daughter. so, its just myself and my daughter in our house for lunch. i decided to cook my daughter's favourite - pasta or noodles. i wanted to make something easy to cook but good to eat. my daughter asked for Chinese noodles. but i had only elbow macaroni in home. that's how we ended up having Chinese Elbow for lunch. 
All veggies and Chinese flavouring sauces - that's all needed.
I chop the vegetables finely for this pasta unlike for noodles. saute all, mix it with cooked pasta.
here is the recipe in detail.


Ingredients:

  • elbow pasta - boiled
  • vegetables - green beans, carrot, cabbage, capsicum, broccoli (can add spring onions also).
  • garlic - 3 cloves finely chopped
  • soy sauce
  • chilli sauce
  • schezwan sauce
  • tomato ketchup
  • salt
  • pepper powder
  • brown sugar
  • oil

Procedure:

  • boil the pasta as per the packet instructions.
  • cut the vegetables fine and keep ready.
  • heat enough oil in a wide pan.
  • add the chopped garlic.
  • followed by chopped vegetables.
  • saute for 5 mins in high heat.
  • add the salt and sauces. continue sauteing for another 10 minutes. let the vegetables be still crunchy.
  • add the cooked pasta and give a good stir.
  • check for salt and spice. add the brown sugar and stir well.
  • once everything is well mixed. remove from heat and serve hot.
