Chinese Elbows - Macaroni in Chinese Style
Unexpected holiday.. make it special !!
Today, is a study holiday for my daughter. so, its just myself and my daughter in our house for lunch. i decided to cook my daughter's favourite - pasta or noodles. i wanted to make something easy to cook but good to eat. my daughter asked for Chinese noodles. but i had only elbow macaroni in home. that's how we ended up having Chinese Elbow for lunch.
All veggies and Chinese flavouring sauces - that's all needed.
I chop the vegetables finely for this pasta unlike for noodles. saute all, mix it with cooked pasta.
here is the recipe in detail.
Ingredients:
- elbow pasta - boiled
- vegetables - green beans, carrot, cabbage, capsicum, broccoli (can add spring onions also).
- garlic - 3 cloves finely chopped
- soy sauce
- chilli sauce
- schezwan sauce
- tomato ketchup
- salt
- pepper powder
- brown sugar
- oil
Procedure:
- boil the pasta as per the packet instructions.
- cut the vegetables fine and keep ready.
- heat enough oil in a wide pan.
- add the chopped garlic.
- followed by chopped vegetables.
- saute for 5 mins in high heat.
- add the salt and sauces. continue sauteing for another 10 minutes. let the vegetables be still crunchy.
- add the cooked pasta and give a good stir.
- check for salt and spice. add the brown sugar and stir well.
- once everything is well mixed. remove from heat and serve hot.
Happy cooking !!
